I7 920 + hyper 212 plus

Hello.
i hav an i7 920 at stock speed with hyper 212 plus.
cpu idles at 45-50C and at load 55max. im using a push-pull setup.
got a rear and a top exhaust fan. ambient temp is 30C with humidity 66%.
one side intake, front intake, psu fan suckin air from outside. (bottom mount)
and yes, good cable management.
lots of my friends hav idle cpu temps 25-35C.
i mixed two thermal compunds. the one tat came with the hyper 212plus and CM thermal fusion 400.
im sure everything is fine with my pc except my cpu temps. (gpu is fine.. 37C idle)
any suggestion?

More about hyper plus
  1. theres your problem. You mixed two thermals compounds. It's either one or the other due to the fact that their chemical solutions are different and may actually conflict with each other.

Scrape the thermal compounds off and apply one solution. That should get your idle temps around the mid 30s or possibly lower depending on ambient temperature and your case.
  2. don't mix thermal compound.
  3. Why would you do this?

I think we have a mad scientist on our hands. LOL
I have the same Hyper 212 on an asrock x58. My idel tempts are 32/37 running prime 95 small FFT's it dont go over 61.

You should be getting low 30's with the hyper. Remove and replace yer mad scientist mixture with one or the other. I have artic silver 5. Don't put to much either less is more. very thin layer of paste like a piece of saran wrap.
