Hey guys,

First my system specs:

Quote:
CPU - Intel i5-2500k
GPU - 2 x Gigabyte GTX570
PSU - AX850 Corsair
Mobo - Gigabyte Z68XP-UD4
RAM - Kingston DDR3 12GB PC-12800/1600 XMP (3x4GB) CL9 HyperX

Also using Corsair H80 Cooling.

What I have tested:

Quote:
1. Breadboard (CPU,Heatsink,Mobo,PSU ONLY connected)

2. Removed Restart System Panel connector

3. When ran, PC does beeps in a long series. Usually lasting 0.5s On - 0.5s Off looping.

4. As beeps were heard, Inserted 1 RAM stick into DDR3 1 on motherboard (Slot 1).

5. No beeps heard, only 1 single short beep leading to a shutdown of the system. From reading on these forums, silence (for the most part up until the single beep then shutdown) means a memory problem.

6. I have felt the heatsink sides with my hand and they are quite hot after the constant restarts. I have also felt the tubes from the H80 Liquid cooling and they are quite hot too.

7. I have isolated the PSU and have jumped the green and black wires with a fan connected. The fan stays on leading me to think that my PSU is fine.

I dont know what to do as my computer keeps restarting and dont know what a memory problem is. If I can get some assistance on this I would be greatly appreciative!

Thank you,
Hiyoal

work thru the list. WORK, not just read!

If you are still having issues, let us know where in the list it failed, and we will try to help!
Good Luck!

P.S. I noticed that you are using a triple channel ram kit on a dual channel motherboard. Since the motherboard was never intended to work with a triple channel kit, that memory might not be compatible with your motherboard. I would either take out 1 stick (the one in the odd colored slot) or see if I could trade it in for a 16 GB (4X4GB) kit.(check the QVL for the motherboard for memory that works with your board) Dual channel motherboards require memory sticks in multiples of 2 to enable dual channel access.
