Which cpu will my Dell mobo 0ct017 work with. There was an old forum post that had the cpu's listed but none of them are available anymore. I am trying to salvage this computer for my kids so that they can play the games they want like Sims 3. Please help! The one I was looking at was the Wolfdale 3.08gz, it currently has a 1.87gz core 2 duo.

Based on chipset and this post it probably does not support Wolfdales but E6xxx and Q6xxx series core2 duo's and quad's http://en.community.dell.com/suppo [...] x#19791009
Here is a CPU list for the chipset http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Inte [...] press.html

Thank you for the quick response. I will try to find a core 2 duo cpu at a second source. Newegg shows 1 but it is out of stock. I just hope I can find one or I will probably have to build a new one. Thanks again for the info.

Ebay should be plentiful of used ones and you probably can pick up a Q6600 for same as new e6xxx. http://www.ebay.com/sch/CPUs-/164/ [...] 6.c0.m1538

Will all of the cpu's on the link (in the first response) work with my mobo?

What I have seen on the dell forum they state that it does support up to Q66/700 quads, so I presume so!
