I have a Nexis 650 watt PSU that is out of spec for the 5 volt rail. (I'm not experienced with testing but my volt meter seemed okay with everything else except for one lead.) The voltage was 5.6 or so I ordered a new PSU and that fixed the problem.

Is it worthwhile or even possible to fix a PSU? Or should I just toss it?

It is not worthwhile! Just toss it!

No. They're so complicated that it would be time- and cost-intensive to find the problem, though it's probably just some blown connection or one bad part.

depends really if its a diode or any other tricky part not worth it if its a cap or 2 that could be quite possible if you had replacement caps

But just figuring out what the problem was would cost too much.
