Does my motherboard [MSI Z77-G45] have a network card?

I built my PC and I bought an ethernet cable and it tells me no networking hardware detected, so I look in the control panel and all that is listed is a "ethernet controller" and no network card... I thought all motherboards came with network cards? do i need to buy one or is there a problem?

Turned out to be a driver issue. No drivers at all were installed. weird.
