Motherboard only picking up certain hard drives?

My motherboard will only pick up a certain HD, which was the original one I had when I built the computer ~2008. No other drives (WD Caviar Green/Black) will even be picked up the Bios, but a Hitachi Deskstar will.
This is the mobo http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2Plus/M3A78EMH_H...
All of the drives are connected via SATA cable.
Again it will only pick up the Hitachi drive, no other one, even a Seagate.

Couple things, first use SATA 1-4 ports and second if you mean they're not showing up in Windows then I assume they're unformatted.
Open the Widows Disk Management and see if they're listed, and if they're new then click on the drive(s) and Label/Format and use MBR; my preference is to uncheck Quick Formatting and the drives are formatted in the much longer Full Formatting.
