Where do I plug in monitor on this?

Hello,
This is my first build, and I have a Gigabyte Z68 AP-D3 Board.

I did not buy a video card. Where is the output for the monitor? I only see a 9-pin, just below the printer pins. Or, do I have to buy a graphics card in order to plug in my monitor? Or, do I have to have a HDMI monitor, as that's the only port I see to connect to a monitor?

I'm currently using an LG monitor with D-Sub and DVI capability, which appears neither will work on this board.
