Hi there,
Im getting a new PC (DellXPS8300, intel i52300, 4gbRAM) and Im wondering if a HD6670 graphics card will handle these games: Sims 3, RCT3, C&C Generals, Spore, C&C Tiberian Wars. im not looking for incredible frame rates, but a playable and useable frame rate. can this card do that with the i5?

I would say you can play a game like Crysis 2 @ 1080p with the graphics set to "Gamer" (lowest setting, but still looks good) and get decent performance. However, if you should install the DX11 patch for Crysis 2, then your card would struggle a bit.

You should also be able to play games like StarCraft 2.

Here's a review of the HD 6670 with benchmarks of some popular games. The games are mostly 1st person shooters, and are different from the types of games you like to play, but it will give you an idea how the HD 6670 ranks with other video cards in demanding games. Note that all graphic settings have been maxed out and the test rig uses an Intel Core i7-920 @ 3.8GHz.

okay im going with the i5 2300 and the 6670 with 4gb ram, do i need this kind of spec or will a cheaper set play the games i mentioned above, as i do not intend to do serious gaming on this pc, as i have a ps3 for this, would an i3 2120 or 2100 with either GT530, AMD5670 be still good for sims and basic not graphic hungry games?

The i3 2100 comes close to a i5 750 during hyperthreading. Its a good solid CPU.

What are you talking about ? HD 5670 and HD 6670 1GB versions not being able to run its full potential ? That only happens when the CPU isn't powerful enough. At such cases the card 'bottlenecks' the CPU.
