We can't view an image file that resides on your own hard disk drive.

You need to upload the image file to an image hosting site and then post a link to it or use the Insert image button and paste the image link in there.

I've used http://www.postimage.org/ for uploading image files.

Please specify the model number. FSP has at least eight 700 Watt models, all with different capabilities/specifications.

For a system using a single GeForce GTX 570 graphics card NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 550 Watt or greater power supply that has a combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 38 Amps or greater and that has at least two 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

Your FSP Group FSP700-80GLN, with its combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 50 Amps, is theoretically more than capable of powering your system with a single GeForce GTX 570 graphics card. It only has one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector so you will have to use a dual 4-pin Molex to 6-pin PCI Express power dongle for the second 6-pin PCI Express connector on the GeForce GTX 570.

It's not the power supply's total wattage that determines whether or not the power supply is capable of properly powering your system with a specific graphics card. The most important power supply specification is its combined +12 Volt continuous current rating.

The FSP Group FSP700-80GLN is plagued by ripple and noise, according to Oklahoma Wolf, jonnyGURU.com's power supply reviewer. What that means is that the DC output quality of that power supply is not good.

ok so the verdict it will do the job but is quite poor quality? there's 2 connectors for the gtx 570? currently have 9800 gtx so only has one.

any you recommend? seeing as i was only hoping to spend 550 on upgrades its slowly creeping up lol.

Yes, the GeForce GTX 570 requires two 6-pin PCIe power connections.

The reputable name brands are Antec, Corsair, Enermax, Seasonic, XFX.

How much have you allocated for the power supply budget?

i guess these are the 3 i have come across. any others please let me know :)

All three, that you've listed, are very good PSUs. All three of those models use Seasonic as its OEM.
December 13, 2011 9:35:37 PM

lol ok so 600w is good enough, and im guessing that although these are 100w less they are a lot more efficient so wont be much difference anyway.

guess ill be replacing my psu too then :sarcastic:

As I've mentioned above, it's not the power supply's total wattage that determines whether or not the power supply is capable of properly powering your system with a specific graphics card. The most important power supply specification is its combined +12 Volt continuous current rating.

You may find power supplies on the market that supply more than enough Wattage to run the system. However, many of them lack the Amperage capacity on the critical +12 Volt rail, which is necessary to support that claimed Wattage.

The two devices that consume the majority of the power, within the computer, are the CPU and the GPU. Both of these devices obtain all of their power from the +12 Volt rail(s). If this critical rail is unable to supply enough power to these two components the system is not going to run properly.

oh sorry i did read it just default to the whole wattage thing lol,

out of those 3 which one would you choose if you had to? which is the best.

Antec for the modular cables.

All three have the same 5 Year warranty period so expected reliability is the same.
