Hey guys,
I just bought an Asus Xonar Essence ST soundcard but I'm having a big problem with it.
I have disabled onboard sound in my BIOS and unistalled my previous Asus Xonar D1.
I plug in the card into a PCI slot and connect a molex cable to it for power and when I power up, I have no display and after between 5-10 seconds the pc powers done. What can the problem be? I've tried plugging the card into another PCI slot and changed molex connectors, to no avail. I've also tried it on another pc and it won't pick up the device, is the card faulty?
My current setup is:
-Core i7 2600k
-Asus P8P67 Pro motherboard
-Corsair 8gb vengence ddr3 1600 ram
-coolermaster V8 cooler
-MSI GTX 580 twin frozor ii/OC
-Antec high current pro 850w PSU
