I am in need of a little help.

I finally finished my first build, assembling it at least, but alas it didn't work.
I have two problems.
I have two optical drives. Both seem to work just fine, until I plug them into my motherboard. Then they completely stop working.
I tried switching the cable, and only connecting one, but to no avail.
On top of that the graphics card is not sending out a feed.
ATI 100-505606 FirePro V4800 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Workstation Video Card
The system fan works fine. But there is nothing on the display.
From what I can tell everything else works fine. It turns on, all the fans are running, there is nothing coming from the internal speaker though.
It seems that the motherboard is to blame. But if there is something I am unaware about let me know. I just want a second thought before I tap my warranty into use.

Thanks for the help.

Thank you for the assist. I solved one problem, though it makes me feel like an idiot for forgetting.
Now the optical drives work. But I am still not getting a response from the monitor. I went through the list as far as I can tell it is all correct.
I am also not getting anything from the mouse or keyboard. So I am going to try again and see if I can catch the problem.
