GA-970A-DS3 vs GA-990FXA-UD3

Hey guys, I'm trying to decide between two Gigabyte motherboards, mainly the GA-970A-DS3 and GA-990FXA-UD3. My question mainly is which one would be better for a gaming computer build on a limited budget. The other parts I was going to get are:

AMD FX-8120 or AMD FX-8150
GeForce GTX 650
and 16GB of RAM I haven't decided on yet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

More about 970a 990fxa
  1. GA-970A-DS3, Better audio codec and two way crossfire or sli.
  2. go for

    AMD FX 8120
    GA-970A-DS3
HD 6850 or HD 7770 as the GTX 650 is a horrible card especially for gaming
8GB DDR3 as 16GB is overkill 8GB is more than enough
  3. Alright, thanks for the advice. I was primarily going for the GTX 650 because it's fairly new, and I wanted to get a computer that exceeds all the recommended system requirements of all the games out there right now, and would last for several years.
  4. doesn't matter if the GTX 650 is new it's utterly crap compared to what i listed. It even does worse than the HD 7750 in gaming

  5. The GA-990FXA-UD3 is better without a question of a doubt, but you will have trouble finding one for anyware near the price of the otherone
  6. go for the 990 chipset,,, its newer so it should be better
