I've been looking around the boards awhile and this will be my first post (also not sure if this is in the right section :3). Anywho, I am looking to build my first computer. I have already picked out the parts, but I would like to know if they are all compatible to one another. Also, if there is anything that is better/cheaper (or if I'm missing anything)...please let me know.
Budget is ~$1300 (this is including my monitor and keyboard + mouse. At total it is around that price)
Missing a DVD writer which are around $20 so not a big deal.
Also add an aftermarket CPU cooler for OC: Cooler Master Hyper 212+ at about $30 is cheap and effective.
Case: Excellent choice, great airflow, lots of room.
HDD: Might want to consider Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB - cheaper, faster, more reliable in general
GPU: You can definately use more juice in this department: NVidia GTX560Ti or ATI 6950 - Great performance for little more money if you can afford it.
PSU: Good solid unit. Possibly consider 750W if you intend to Crossfire/SLI
Memory: 1.5V CAS9 1600Mhz Corsair, GSkill, Kingston or Mushkin is fine 2x4GB the way to go these days
Mobo: Leave yourself the option to SLI/Crossfire you can get it for the same price Asrock Z68 Extreme 3 $124.99 ( -$10 with CC )
gen3 PCIe and supports SLI/Crossfire.
CPU: Best bang for buck - good choice here
Monitor: You can probably grab a good FULL HD monitor as well for the same price, but it is most likely not a bad choice.
Thanks for replying. I did have a DVD burner, but forgot to add it, heh. I don't initially plan to OC since I'm not even sure how to do it, as time progresses (and new parts come out, etc) I'm sure I will. I looked at the GPU's and a few others and I might get the 560ti when it comes down to purchasing everything. I also found a better monitor for about $20 more. I'm sure my list is going to change around a bit. Lol. Thanks again. Wanted to make sure I was on the right track!
