Hi. I must admit that of all the computers I had in my life, I've never used a discrete sound card. I've never needed, the onboard ones do well their jobs. In the beginning of this year I bought one new. The motherboard is an ASUS P8Z68-V PRO and have a Realtek ALC892 sound card integrated. And I'm not happy with the perfomance of this card. The volume is so low. I have a 2.1 audio system near the screen and I must put about half of it's volume with the max volume on Windows to hear normal sound. And If connect a headphones the volume is so low. No matter if I connect to the 2.1 system output, or back or front of the computer case. I don't know if this sound card is bad or Asus screwed me again. What should I do? Thanks.

P/D: I had two computers who have a Realtek sound card integrated. One AC97 and other one HD Audio. And both worked perfectly.

Yes. All is set to maximum. And I always get the lastest drivers for everything. So I guess is not a software problem.
