Hi!
I have a wired problem. I need my screen to be identifyed as i DVI monitor, and not a HDMI. I have tricked the system to belive it was a DVI screen by hotswaping, and i know it works. Is there a pin i can pull out of the cable (DVI->HDMI) that will force it over to DVI?

Hi again, and thank you for the respons.

My AMD Radeon 6850 can detect if the screen is connected with HDMI over DVI, or just plain DVI. OSX 10.6.8 (and other versions) seems to have problems with this in its driver/kext.
Example:
1. When the screen is connected with a DVI->HDMI cable, you can adjust under/overscanning. This can not be done when you use a DVI->DVI cable.
2. If I boot with a DVI monitor and start up Starcraft 2 I get a crystal sharp image. If I switch the monitor with my HDMI monitor, connected with a DVI->HDMI cable ingame, the image stays crystal clear. However, if I boot using the HDMI monitor and start the game, the image if blurry.

So what i am looking for is a way to tell the graphic card that its connected to the screen with a DVI only cable.

Hope this made sense... =)
