My mother board (ASrock extreme 4 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157293) is and ATX it says it in the details. But when i put it into my NZXT Phantom the standoffs went into the labels one step lower... did i get the wrong board?? or is that normal for the case to be partially wrong?

Oh ok!!! thankyou, it really confused me lol. Is this a bad thing in anyway? or just something they did to lower the price?

ASRock is not a premium brand, it is only a mainstream brand. It has everything to do with cost cutting.

If the unsupported part of the motherboard were to come into contact with the motherboard tray it may cause a short circuit which isn't a good thing. Don't apply any force that will push or pull the unsupported overhang down towards the motherboard tray while the motherboard is still receiving power.

Yes you can, as long as it's not electrically conductive.

You can use these:

You'll have to use some other kludge for the other corner and center of the motherboard overhang.

You could take a couple of those nylon standoffs and cut off the 10.2 mm snap-in post that would be inserted into a hole an the motherboard and place a piece of double sided adhesive tape over the bottom of the remaining part and stick it onto the motherboard tray in the appropriate spots. That way you don't damage the motherboard and the nylon standoffs wont move around or fall off.

You can also look for self-adhesive nylon standoffs of the appropriate height and cut off the protruding snap-in post.
