LOL... never heard of an after-market CPU cooler for a laptop... I'm sure they make them, I just never heard of it. You may also need to get a faster RPM fan...?

Am I missing something here? You have a notebook and are looking to upgrade to an i7 chip...you know you can't generally upgrade a laptop CPU, right?

In terms of aftermarket cooling for a laptop, a cooling tray does wonders.

yea i know that but i kept on searching till i found web sites that showed that my board supported i3 i5 and i7 chips
i got my eye set on a i5-580M now im cross referencing to make sure the chipset will support the i5. the chipset is HM65 express chipset and the i5 supports turbo boost the HM65 chipset supports the Core i5 Mobile cpu with this in mind my concern it heat but if you say those external fan platforms work well then ill try it :)  oh and i havent been able to find out the fsb is on this board (629122-001) the chip im looking at right now says the fsb is 500-766 MHz

Well there may be problems with the new cpu. Check on their website to see if you can update the bios.
