I'm going to be overclocking my computer soon for the first ever overclock by me, this will be after I get my Christmas presents from myself ;)
I have a Hyper 212+ and new video card coming soon.
My case has 2 80mm Fans (intake) in the front of the case inside the HDD bays, a 120mm Fan (exhaust) on the side, a 120mm Fan (exhaust) on the rear and another 135mm Fan (exhaust) in the PSU. Coming soon will be the Hyper 212+ with it's fan and I have a second fan for a push full configuration shooting straight out the back.
The way its set up now the Three larger fans are exhaust and the two smaller fans are intake so it would be a Vacuum.
I was wondering if I should set the side fan to intake instead of exhaust (I assume just rewire the red to the black and the black to the red would reverse its direction or I'll just take it out and turn it around if possible). This would make my system have positive pressure and I could put filters on the fans to control dust. Someone said to tape shut all the non fan openings that air could escape through such as unused 5.2, would this be a practical idea if this route is suggested?
Here's some pictures of a case to give you a idea of fan placement. Front Side

Turn the side fan for intake! Currently the GPU has to fight it for air!

Your right, it seems to have cooled down my CPU by switching the direction of the fan although it is making a noticeable noise now perhaps the fan is rubbing, i may have to sand my case down to stop the rubbing.
Previously in Prime95 I would have to turn it off after less then a minute because the CPU temperature surpassed 60C which was my personal cut off. Its ran for 10 minutes at 58C and holding.
Do you have any more Ideas for case cooling?

FYI
i doubt the side fan does anything but create noise. most side fans only do one thing, increase case dust.

the cm 212+ has minimal benefit from a second fan, especially when the rear exhaust fan will be right next to it.

you want proper case air flow, with air coming in the front and leaving the back/top in a quick and uninterrupted direction.
