Can this motherboard connect to a wireless network?

Hi,
I don't know very much about motherboards and I just helped my friend put together his computer. Unfortunately, he isn't able to connect to his wireless network. He has this motherboard: http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Computer-Motherboard-Motherboards-970A-G46/dp/B0073JYZ48/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1346455848&sr=1-1&keywords=msi+970a
I was wondering whether this motherboard would be able to connect to his network wirelessly or if we would have to get a separate device. Thanks in advance :)

  1. You will need to buy and install a Wi-Fi adapter. It can be a USB adapter or a PCI Express x1 card or a PCI card, the choice is up to you.
  2. +1^
The internet adapter integrated on the board is only for Ethernet (wired). If cost is an issue, I have had good luck with these USB adapters for my builds. The long extention cable allows you to position the antenna where you can get the best signal strength.
