New PC. Need Help

Hey,

So I have been using Macs for the past 6 years or so, and I have just got both a desktop and laptop in the PC verison.

I am trying to refamilarize myself with the Windows os. I have win7.

I am currently trying to see the speed of my 8GB of ram...I can't find that info anywhere. I am looking to upgrade the RAM speed to 1600, DDR3 12800, if that is not what my XPS laptop came with.

Any help?

download cpu-z, or everest, or sandra. why do you care so much about your memory speed? that's like the last thing to worry about, as long as it's ddr3.

You can right click on 'My Computer' and click on properties, there you will see all the info of you computer including the amount of RAM, cpu, etc. Or do as the other member suggested- download cpu-z

Windows won't tell him the RAM frequency. CPU-Z will.

1600MHz RAM is good, but 1333MHz is fine, also. What do you intend to do with your system (gaming, video editing ...?)
