hello sidhu1811

....can I suggest that you plug in a large external hard drive to your USB port before buying a high capacity disk. I had a Dell laptop P4 and took it forgranted that it could read a high capacity drive and was left flumoxed when it could read only 130 Gb of the new 160 Gb drive. I have since put that drive in a drive caddy and use it as an external drive.

An AMD system of the same age on the other hand is fine as my son plonked a 320 Gb drive into a Sempron laptop, so I followed suit with my P4 which actually was a tad yonger and was shot down. It should be fixable with a BIOS update, but given the obscurity of your mobo manufacturer I'd check it out first before investing. Just my thoughts. Good Luck!!
