So my wife bought me this CM1630 because my gaming laptop died a few months ago and I didn't have the heart to tell her that it will struggle playing the most modest games. I understand that this will never be a great gaming rig; I just need some help upgrading some key components so that I can get some use out of this piece of crap. I'm not a hardware guy, but I'm trying to learn. So here is my issue.... I want to upgrade the graphics card to something respectable ($100 - $150), but I understand that the 300w power supply (stop laughing) has to be upgraded first. I've read that a 600w PSU will do the trick (another $90 ish.) Here is my question.... How can I tell what the motherboard can handle for both the PSU and how do I choose an appropriate card?

there should be no problem for the motherboard accepting any psu. just get a new and get a good card like 6850 or so. and you dont have to get 600W unless you plan on like crossfire or sli which doesnt seem possible on this pc.
