Hey guys, needing a PSU, however there are many options, and I want some advice from the community... want to spend max $150 AUS -- however less is better. I just want something that can handle the hardware.

p.s. would prefer Modular!

Other specs of the PC

Antec 900
Phenom II X6 1100T
CM Hyper 212+
Asrock 970 Extreme
G.Skill Ripjaw 8GB 1866MHz
Powercolor 6870
Patriot Pyro Sanforce 60GB
WD Caviar Blue 500GB (one atm, will be buying another when this ones used up)
Couple extra fans
DVD Drive
etc other usual meaningless peripherals

Thanks guys

I recently built a system with the following:
i5-2500K
(Same RAM as you actually)
single GTX 570 Super OC'd
SDD
1TB WD Black
BR Drive, 4 fans total, network card, the usual.

I bought a Corsair 750TX modular. Its not 100% modular -- the MOBO connector, CPU connector, an SATA cable and 4-pin connectors are hard-wired, but I use those no matter what. (Maybe 1 PCI-e too, off the top of my head). They're available in 850W and 950W too, and their price is very competitive.

Regardless, Corsair, Thermaltake are good brands. Just make sure you get a single +12V rail on the system. My Thermaltake 700W with quad +12V rails, although supported a combined 56A +12V output, was insufficient, because single rails got overloaded (resulting in system reboot) all the time. Single rail solved this for me.

Mine set me back ~110 AUD, plus I have a rebate coming back.
