More about system suggestions
  1. anyone? just want to see what you guys think, and do you think i can improve on anything?
  2. also can a cx 430 run a gtx 560 ti? with the setup above
  3. In the next two months, there will be a black friday sale and AMD's new processors would be released. Ask again in the next 3months and 2 weeks. It's a waste to ask now since there would be major price changes in the months ahead.

good point. has anyone seen anything on bulldozer? tomshardware just did something on sandy bridge extreme it seems that there needs to be some sort of stats out now.
  5. Everything looks fine... here's some stuff that's cheaper.

    -Intel Core i3-2100 ($108.24 after tax): http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0359809

    - G.Skill 4GB DDR3 1333 ($26): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231253

    - Seagate Barracuda SATA 6.0gb/s ($44): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148767

    * A GTX 560 Ti requires at least 500w psu, so the 430w will not work.
  6. they are supposed to be released september 19th. there has to be leaked stats unless they get crushed by sandy bridge and dont want to show it.

that ram is 12 cents less than the pny ram i posted after tax. it doesnt have heatsinks too. i know ddr3 does not need heatsinks but they look cool. and i just did the math on a psu calculator. you have to remember i am not running much stuff and it isnt oc'd. with a 560 ti it takes up about 280w a 430w psu should be fine. and i totally forgot about microcenter that will save me like 15$ thanks.
  8. If your primary need is to surf the internet, you might want to check out this...

    AMD Llano CPU ($99): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103951
    FM1 Socket Motherboard ($75): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157260

You'll end up with slightly less CPU power but vastly superior GPU power (equiv to Radeon HD 6530)... it's also a few bucks cheaper, too. The i3 and Llano CPUs are both overpowered for Internet browsing, so in my book, it's better to have a bit more bandwidth on the GPU side... the integrated Intel GPUs are barely enough to run a 1080p monitor and you can forget about BlueRay.

Of course, if you end up with a GTX 560, this is all moot.

Also, save $4 and get a $2 mouse pad from Walmart.

This threw me off a bit, for internet browsing the i3 is kinda overkill. Hell an athlon x2 with igp should be plenty.
  10. yeah but I think he's going for integrated GPU on i3-2100. chekck out craigslist for used monitor or ebay
  11. with taxes $338

You're better off with this. $200 bucks

It has all the parts you need and more! Dual core hah. The Quad core is better! ^__^ actually for surfing the net, just get the cheapest combo deal in newegg.
  14. i am not looking to upgrade this for about 3-5 years so i want to make it last. that is why i am taking the i3 2100. for its extra processing power

Even if you don't upgrade for 10 years, it'll still run great if you plan on surfing.

Quad cores are better than the i3 if you plan on surfing the 2 extra cores will make your computer faster for multitasking. ^_^
  18. Just out of curiousity, you're looking to surf the web only... Why are you asking about the 560Ti?

Also... Are you into LOOKS, or performance?

the only problem with that is the case and the psu. the psu is total trash.

in the same ballpark is the x4 955. i will not be overclocking because i do not have room for a cpu cooler (i think) and the i3 2100 is better at stock and you would have to oc the 955 a good amount to match the performance. remember the i3 2100 has hyperthreading which makes its 2 cores into 4 threads
  22. What is this about black friday sales? How good are they usually?
