Evening!

So I am considering to add more ram. Right now I have 3x1gb Kingston ddr3 @ 1333 mhz. And since the ram prices have dropped and I have upgraded from w7 32 bit to 64 maybe I could fill my empty slot. I am looking at a kingston 2gb ram with same mhz and voltage.

Would there be any problems pairing it with a 1gb version?
Would I notice any major performance boost from 3gb to 5? (doing some gaming(dota 2, d3 etc.))

My system: W7 64bit
Amd phenom II 955
3 gb ddr3 ram
9600 gt
asus m4a79xtd evo

Thanks!

2gb ram should work in your system. Size doesnt fact all time.

You will not see any performance boost unless you update to a faster graphic card. Memory amount dont effect game performance.

I would either get a 4th stick of the same 'Kingston' you have now, or get a 2x4GB kit and eBay/File-13 the 3x1GB. Ideally, for gaming on any platform 8GB is the 'magic' number, and sure you can game on 4GB. Also, don't mix-match RAM - it's an accident waiting to happen.

Examples (Blue 2x4GB DDR3-1600):
$31 (rebate) Patriot PVI38G160C9K - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220705
/Yeah it says Intel but any of these kits run on either platform./
