P.N.03! Not everyone's game, but it is near the top of my list simply
because it requires thinking, and is hard without being stupid. At least on
the first two settings. The top level is Hard, but fun and hell anyway.

Of corse, without knowing what kinds of games you like, most
recommendations would be pointless.

Here are my favorites, in no particular order:

Super Smash Brothers: Melee (for multiplayer)
Mario Sunshine
Rogue Squadron II
Eternal Darkness
Resident Evil Remake
Resident Evil 4
Mario Kart (for multiplayer)
Zelda: Wind Waker
Pikmin 2
Metroid Prime
Animal Crossing

Those, and Resident Evil 4, are the best games for the cube.

No, one of the worst games would be Froger Beyond.

P.N.03 is an outstanding game that only a few people 'get'. I have
played it through four times so far, with a fifth coming soon.

If I thought the original poster had a chance of getting his hands on a
copy, I would recommend Cubivore too.

I'm at the very last part of Tak 2. There were times when I was stuck for a
few days at a few places. It's a challenging game with brilliant graphics.
I used a guide book. I plan next to play Metroid Prime, then Ghost Recon 2.
And I want to check out P.N. 03.

Hi

Bullshit, worst Mario game ever. Story and locations are nice,
but the difficulty of some levels is extreme out of balance. i
would olny reconmend this game to people who dont care to
try some levels over and over for many many times.

The best nintendo franchises on cube are zelda wind waker,
despite the strange graphics style and mario kart dd. but
not super mario sunshine.

3rd'd... I bought myself MP2 for my birthday and it's been consuming
tons of time lately. For me it's balanced _perfectly_ -- much stuff
starts out seeming impossible (especially the harder bosses), but
eventually becomes 2nd nature. It's a wonderfully beautiful game as
well. The original MP was ace too.

Some other faves: Eternal Darkness, Pikmin 2, Viewtiful Joe.

An RPG that also has great boss fights in the turn-based style is
"Eternal Arcadia Legend" (that's the J name, I forget what it's called
elsewhere). That one sort of drives me crazy too though, as I only play
occasionally, am always forgetting where I have to go, and random
encounters make it not very fun to just wander around...

Yeah, some of the best graphics this gen, but constantly seems to be under
rated in respect to graphics when compared to other games.

I would not reccomend it. I have it in my XBOX right now. For about five
more seconds. I have all 81 Hearts, but after over 150 attempts, I can not
get past the second wave of groundcrawlers (and fireballs). Dumb luck
dictates after that many tries, I would accidently get past them at least
once. That totally killed a great game.

Wind Waker is a must have game. Not as good as Ocarina of Time, but an
excellent game nonetheless.

Also, I never played this on GCN but on PC it was a blast: Jedi Outcast.

Mario platformers are *supposed* to be difficult! I swear, if the lamers
(no offense, dude) who complained about how hard this game was convince
Nintendo to dummy down the difficulty on the next Mario, I will curse you
all to your dying days!!

Here are some more recommendations:

Viewtiful Joe - Fast action 2D scroller.

Ikaruga - One of the best shooters, ported from Dreamcast.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger - Not too difficult 3D platformer with great locales.

Midway Arcade Treasures 1 & 2 - If you're into arcade games...

Tales of Symphonia - Great RPG.

Animal Crossing - It's got its own newsgroup if you want to what its about.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - Fun RPG.

Alien Hominid - Another great 2D scroller.

Amazing Island - Build you own monsters. Tough to find.

Super Monkey Ball - The start of a franchise and the best.

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy - Egyptian themed platformer.

I've got this one. I haven't played it through but it is fun. And
challenging.
