Is there a simple way (like the one in Win9x) to enable/disable Active
Desktop in WinXP Pro without using a 3rd party's software or by editting
the registry/grouppolicies?

Thank you!!

Hi,

The UI to enable/disable Active Desktop was removed in Windows XP. The only way to enable/disable it
is through editing the registry (manually or through REGedits) or through Group Policies. The
following edit by MVP Kelly enables/disables Active Desktop:

Active desktop - enable or disable (line 16, left column)
