Hi,

I have installed a Maxtor 20 mb 5400 rpm HDD as a master on the second IDE channel. MB is MSI K7Tpro with Athlon Tbird 900 running windows 98. My problem is that whenever I update drivers or if my system has crashed and is rebooted the maxtor is labled as a removable disk. I have to manually turn off the removable setting and shut down the computer for a few minutes to fix this. Very annoying to go through every time I update drivers....does anybody have any clue as to what may be causing this problem.
