Amd 6970m vs dual gtx 460m

Hello,

I just purchased a alienware m17x laptop, i do not know much about hardware but want a powerfull gaming machine but that is portable for work.

At first I had chosen the m18x (big model) with dual gforce gtx 460m and i7 2630 processor... But my friend who knows computers convinced me to switch and purchase a m17x with a single amd 6970m and i7 2720 processor, it also cost 300$ less and he claims will run games smoother... Is this correct?

You already have the M17x,so keep it
2 GTX 460Ms are faster than 6970M,but 6970M is a great card and has less power consumption and noise

They don't scale very well, I would say you got the much better deal considering the price difference

So from what I gather, the 300$ more would not be worth it for the dual cards? also, the m17x build has a better processor, does this affect gaming?
