I am going to upgrade my pc as of right now, heres what I'm set on Antec lanboy air case, Sabertooth 990fx, cosair force 3 120 gb ssd, 16gb g.skill sniper 1866 ddr3, I already have the phenom 1100t, and 2 5870's, and a 500gb 7200rpm hard drive. I was just wondering a good psu to power it all. and would it be advised to get the corsair h100 to liquid cool? I am leaning towards an Ultra 1600w psu. Any suggestions or opinions? Thanks

Do not get the ULTRA 1600 it is not bad but it is not great either and it is twice the size you need. Here is a nice 750watt modular that would run your system fine http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
And a gold 80+ certified 850watt http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
The H100 is a great cooler but there are cheaper options out there that are good as well http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Avoid Ultra power supplies like the plague. Also you need 750-850 watts total. 1600 watts is insane overkill.

Stick with top quality brands like Corsair, Seasonic, PC Power and Cooling, XFX, Enermax or Silverstone.

I would not spend the extra $$ on a H100 myself. I think any decent aftermarket air cooler will get the Thubans to their top overclock. Check out the Scythe Mugen 3 for $50. It cools as well if not better than the closed loop water coolers and generally beats the Hyper 212 by 5 or 6 C.

I was actually looking at the 850w from corsair think I'll go that way thanks! And as for the cooler any other recommendations I'd like to have a few more of your opinions on them or some other good ones? Hows the rest of the build sound to you as well?

Some of the best air coolers are the Thermaltake Frio, Noctua NH 14, Proligmatech Megahalems, Scythe Mugen ect. Any of these coolers and more like the budget Coolermaster Hyper 212 will get your 1100T to it's top overclock.I like the Mugen because it cools as well as the much more expensive coolers for ~$50.

I use IC Diamond thermal paste. Many people still use the older Artic Silver 5 but the AC5 has a 100 hour cure time before it reaches maximum effectivness. Artic Cooling MX 4 also is a good paste.

And I was thinking of going with the xfx 850 instead of the corsair psu let me know your opinion?

I have not seen any numbers on that cooler to know for sure. It will be better than stock for sure but I am pretty sure that design is more for looks than effectivness and it will not work as well as the "top" coolers.

XFX power supplies are excellent.

Ok I just reread that you are NOT overclocking? No sense in spending any money on aftermarket cooling at all then as the stock cooler with stock thermal paste will be fine. Save the money and get a SSD instead.
