which is the best buy for my 12 year old daughter (homework, web browsing, nickelodeon and disney games).
Gateway (AMD Quad-Core A6-3400M Accelerated Processor 1.4GHz with TurboCORE Technology up to 2.3GHz) or a
Dell (2nd generation Intel® Core™ i3-2330M processor 2.20 GHz /2nd generation Intel® Core™ i5-2430M processor 2.40 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.00 GHz).

Best solution

a c 471 à CPUs
a c 118 À AMD

I would prefer the i5 because the more power CPU will allow the CPU to last longer before she may think that performance is lagging.

The A6 is probably cheaper, has a less powerful CPU, but the integrated graphics is a little better than Intel's.

If your daughter is going to play a game like the Sims 3, then the A6 would probably be better.

do you think I will notice a difference in poerformance in the i3 and the i5. The i3 is cheaper of course, but will buy it if I will see the difference.

You won't. If you're planning on grabbing a descrete card, pick i3, if you want to use the integrated one, pick AMD it will be much better for games.
