PCI Sound Card doesn't get detected

Last response: in Motherboards

Hi Guys,

Recently I've set up a machine with Asus P8B75-M LE Motherboard. After I've installed my SB Live! sound card on it, win 7 didn't even show that it has detected a new device. I've learned from different sources that Win 7 does not support SB0100 series Creative sound cards but at least it reports that a new device is found (for other users).

There are 2 PCI slots, I've tried both. I've disabled integrated audio from motherboard as well but no solution.

Is there any mistake I've made to have the system detect the PCI card in the first place over the integrated one?

My system is:

3rd Gen Core i5 3470
4GB DDR3 1600 Mhz

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The intergrated sound on the motherboard is a lot better then the SB Live card. The intergrated sound is HD and is usually 8 channels.
