DVD writer stuck

I shut the door on my dvd writer and I guess the dvd wasn't laying flat. Now the door is like jammed, it won't open. just sits there and clicks like it is trying to.
any help appreciated.

Force it to open by inserting a paper clip into the small hole below tray and pushing on it.
