More about motherboard dead
  1. if your cpu was dead you would get a blank screen--no error message or anything

check your heatsink is properly on--if possible check your cpu in a friends pc
  2. What is the power rating for the computer. What is the wattage of the previous PSU and the new PSU you had. Also, have you considered unplugging all power cables in your computer? I have this happen with me. Just unplugged it for 24 hours, plugged it back in, turned power on( I had to hold down the power button) and viola!
