Hey everyone,

During my long and complicated journey :pt1cable: to find the best motherboard to fit my needs, I came across this board :
ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=13-157-271&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=2

why this one?:
-it's cheap
-2 pcie 3.0 x16
-color scheme
-reviews

It might seems like the perfect board from my point of you  , i wanted your opinion before making any stupid decision.
If you could answer couple qestion for me i would really appreciate it. :D

1- Will i be missing anything from my 3570k with a z68 mobo?
2- Any major reason to avoid ivy bridge with z68?
3- Should i just simply go with a 2500k?

Thanks in advance for the response(s) :)

(btw, i have an SB chip)

As long as you have a SB chip to flash the BIOS (if necessary), I don't see any problem with it.

Why not the Z77 Extreme4 though? Only $134.99.

Edit: I just noticed that you linked Newegg.ca. Canadian prices are crazy, lol and I believe that the Z77 Extreme4 is $179.99 on Newegg.ca (I could be wrong, that's just from memory).

How much are you getting the Z68 Extreme3 for?

Yeah, that's so frustrating :fou: . The extreme4 would have been perfect but it dont feel like encouraging that 45$ overprice from asrock :non: .

125.99 from NCIX with a price match with newegg. It's 55$ less then the z77 extreme4 and seems very similar :kaola: .

Also, is there any difference between ivy+z68 and ivy+z77?
