CrossfireX pairing reference with non-reference?

Currently own a single pcs+ 6970 it has a custom pcb. Now I am wondering if I can pair it with a reference 6970 from Sapphire since I cannot find another PCS+. I will overclock the reference so that both cards run @ the same frequency. Is there any restrictions I might be facing?

Yes you can,brands don't matter.
As for clocks,One of the cards will raise/lower its clock speeds to reach the other card's speeds.
