I have a HP Pavilion A518x desktop computer.
The motherboard is not working properly.
So,I am looking for a replacement.
It is stamped with this on the motherboard:
MS-6577 V4.1
Part number is:
5187-5627

It is selling for over 50.00 on the internet.
I came across a website selling the same board, but different revision number.
Can I use it as a replacement,or does it have to be a 4.1
Here is the link to the motherboard I am hoping to buy:

http://www.serversupply.com/MOTHERBOARD/DESKTOP BOARD/GAMILLA2 GL6E/HP/5188-1749.htm

It is a GAMILA2 just like my fried motherboard.
Only difference is its part number is:
5188-1749
And its stamped with a MS-6577 revision number 4.0

Will it work, and if it does, will I be in violation of Microsoft's policy of using an OEM XP Home edition on a different motherboard.
I ask because I have a OEM XP Home Edition installed on my Pavilion A518x.
So,if I use a different revision number,of this motherboard,is it illegal.
Also,if I may ask,do you have any other suggestions for a better motherboard replacement ?

Thanks!
