Hot 6870

Hey guys,
I have an HIS 6870 and right now I'm running it at stock clocks.
I have the fan manually set to 55%, maybe higher sometimes, because when I leave it to automatic it only goes to 26% and it idles around 55c. Is that too hot? Could it be a problem with the card?
With the fan set to 50% I have it idling at 39c and 62 load.

It's fine. my hd6850 idles 50C. GPUs can hit 100C at max. if it hits 90C, start to be worried. Cards normally only get up to 20C more than idle, maybe 30C. What are load temps?

The difference between idle and load can be a lot more than that depending on the card(s) and still be perfectly normal and within specification.

Yeah, I was just saying normally. It does depend and you are right on that.
