For some reason, my computer will turn on, but will not boot past a black screen. I cannot even get to the BIOS. I thought it might be the CPU, so my friend and I swapped processors(his is an i5) and it worked in my pc fine, booted up and everything. Putting my i7 in his computer didn't work either, until we updated his motherboard BIOS, at which point it worked. We then updated my motherboard bios and put the i7 back in. Same thing, just a black screen. I have no idea what else I can do, because the processor works fine and should work in the TZ77B mobo because its supported, but doesn't.

What should I do? WHat's causing the problem?

On a different note, the SSD also doesn't seem to work. The BIOS won't recognize the SSD at all, and putting the SSD in my friend's PC causes it to bluescreen. Is it a dead drive?

I think that if I were buying a over $300 i7 cpu I wouldn't be putting it in a sub $100 motherboard, I know you may be trying to save money but then put a $150 cpu in a sub $100 MB.
Your friend has an i5 cpu and what does he have for a MB, is it also a Biostar? Your i7 is what the 3770k and your friends i5 is what the 3570k?

With the update of your friends bios allowing the i7 to work on his board then the update on your boards bios should allow for the i7 to work on your board.
I would contact Biostar or if your still in the 30 days from purchase then the place you bought it from and return it for another MB because it's not working with the i7 and it should. It should actually be working without having to do the bios update.
The SSD that you tried in your friends computer did it have anything on it or was it empty? If there's a problem with that then you may have to RMA it as well.
Di you have the SSD installed in your motherboard all the time while your trying to get the i7 to work? If yes then take it out and see if the i7 will work on your MB , it may be the SSD causing all the issues.
