Which is better: 6850 Crossfire or GTX460 1GB SLI? After reading through a few threads and a bit of searching I'm getting a mixed opinion. They are both identical in price (in New Zealand anyway). I hear SLI scales better than Crossfire, is that true? The 6850's also use less power and run cooler? That's not hugely important to me but if they are very similar in performance it might be worth it.

Any input is appreciated.

Both will give you pretty much the same performance, you can't go wrong with either.

I can tell you that the 6850's will probably run A LOT cooler.

Sounds good to me =D The ambient temperature of my room is always pretty high so a cooler card would be nicer. I prefer AMD as a brand anyway.
What about drivers? I hear they can sometimes be a bit suspect or has that changed?

Both AMD and Nvidia sometimes mess up the drivers but most of the time they're fine

AMD seems a better option simply because it would run cooler and also have a lower TDP.
