Hey, i am relatively new to computers and i am looking into building my own rig. I know how important the power supply is for the computer so i was wondering what kind of power supply i would need for this rig:

Intel core i7 2600k
8gb ddr3 corsair vengeance ram
Asus P8H67-V motherboard
EVGA Geforce gtx 580
Western Digital 500gb hard drive

Would a Corsair TX850 850 watt power supply do the job? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

A h67 board on such a good cpu? Make sure you get a good cpu cooler so you can overclock it! Get a 570 instead and upgrade the a p8z68-v! And the psu will work.

h67=no overclocking :(  You want a z68 board.

But if you are only gaming, get the 2500k!

this psu is more than enough, 650w good quality psu is enough to power this rig with overclock
if you can then go for z68 chipset and 580 is good
if it is for gamer then i5 2500k will be enough otherwise it is a nice build (p67 board is not that well for a k series cpu

For a system using a single GeForce GTX 580 graphics card NVIDIA specifies a minimum of a 600 Watt or greater power supply that has a combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 42 Amps or greater and that has at least one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

The Corsair Enthusiast Series TX850 V2 would be capable of handling a system with two reference clocked GeForce GTX 580 in 2-way SLI.
