Hi,
I recently purchased a Sapphire Radeon 5670 graphics card and tried installing it and was unsuccessful. I tried uninstalling the nvidia drivers and it still doesn't get detected. The card is an PCI-Express 2.1 x16, so will it have compatibility issues with my pci-e slot? My motherboard is an ASUS IPILP-LC with an open PCI-E x16 slot for the 5670. My GS 8400 gets detected but not my 5670. My PSU is a Corsair 430w CXV2. Is it possible that the 5670 may be defective even though it powers on (the fan is spinning)?

Thanks,

Solution
Your mobo has pcie 1.1 which is not compatible with pcie 2.1, you need to get a pcie 2.0 5670. There are plenty of those around.

Yes the card is not compatible. This is the fault more of hp cause they usually don't have support for there mobo's. Pci-e 2.1 should be fully compatible ,but the manufacturer actually has to have it compatible. 2.1 card should be fully backwards compatible with 1.x ,though most older oem boards will not work.
