I'm looking at getting the Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Champion Series Sound Card.

I currently play a lot of first person shooters like MW3 and BF3 and think that an upgrade from my integrated mobo audio to this would be a huge step. I play with headphones and use these by Creative:

I would love to hear the forum's thoughts on the combination of these two products. Also, I have a blu-ray player on my computer so having good audio would be nice. Also, I don't have 7.1 speakers because right now I can't be too loud where I live, but will one day want to have 7.1.

Thanks!

First off the headset is really crappy. Like.. really cheap crap. No Offense.

The Champion Series is a waste of money, so is the Fatal1ty one. The only good thing about it compared to the titanium is that it has a little more ram which doesn't really do crap, and has an EMI (i think that's what it's called) shield that stops static interference from coming in.

I'd say save some money and go with the Titanium one for under $70. Same sound (I had both).

As for the headset, you might want to upgrade it.

Thanks for the replies. I do like the front panel that comes with the champion series. Basically, I just want to know if the actual sound card is any good.

Yes I know the headset isn't great. But, I wanna get a better sound card before I get a new headset.
