Processor upgrade help for hp a622n

Hi everyone,

Heres the deal I have a hp a622n and Im looking into adding a new Processor. I'm not sure of how to find out what my mb can handle. I know a lot of you will say just get a new rig but this is my starter for building a pc. I have upgraded to 2gb ram and a zaltech gt610 pci graphics card and looking to do a bit more up grades before I move on to building a new pc.. so this is more so for fun. I my trying to get to about mid to low 3's. on Processor speeds.

  1. It apparently has a PGA478 board, that is older than old.

    Upgrade the mobo to atleast a LGA775 mobo and get a cheap LGA775 CPU of ebay.

    You can find them cheap on amazon.

    So if I get the lga775 mobo will I need to get new powersupply, hhd and case or can i use the one's from my hp?
