Multimeter readings

hello;

i have bought a cheap multimeter(10$) to check my psu voltage.

current readings for 12v. rail is 12.28v
current readings for 5v. rail is 5.19v

is that ok and within limits?

Thats fine, the 3.3, 5, and 12 V rails are all allowed to be +/- 5% of their nominal values so 3.14-3.465, 4.75-5.25, and 11.4-12.6 so yours are reading well within spec. Any particular reading you were checking your voltages? If you don't know of any problems, don't go looking you might find something thats abnormal but won't ever cause an issue.

thanks for your answer, actually the psu is working fine on my pc, and it is 4 years old(but not that much used), just wanted to check it as i want to make an upgrade soon.
