So I want to connect my ps3 to my monitor but my monitor only has dvi input. I know I can use an HDMI to DVI cable to connect the ps3 but how would i also get audio from the ps3?

Solution
Apparently you can configure audio separately from video. Send video over DVI, send audio over the analog out. "From the settings menu select Sound Settings, then Audio Output Settings. From there you can choose to run the audio over your connector of choice. The PS3 will have pictures of those connections and connectors so you can be sure that you select the correct one. OR you can use a receiver that switches HDMI to send the video out to the monitor over the HDMI-DVI cable and listen to the audio from the receiver through speakers or headphone.... (I use a receiver and love the sound vs. anything like a pc speaker...)
