I want to get a MSI 760GM-E51 (FX) motherboard with a Phenom IIx4 965 processor. However, i'm unsure if the motherboard can handle it due to the wattage.
Can it handle it? If not, what processor do you recommend for gaming on this mobo? Thanks!
Under the details tab of the MB it says it supports AM3 sochet and will support the Phenom 11 cpu so that means , yes the Phenom 11 x4 965 will work on that MB.

Hmm. If I'm not mistaken, the CPU is 125w. However the Mbo might be 3+1 phase, probably 4+1. MSI board have been known for failing with high w CPUs. Make sure to check power phases on Mbo. And I recommend you getting the Asus boards.
