last week i decided to buy new parts to build my new pc, once i assemble averything together i installed my copy of windows 7 x64 and before i had done anything else i have updated the bios as asus suggested on their website and after that i curried on installing my software.
everything was looking fine, temperature were fine, everything look good. after two days of the pc life i was playing flight simulator x and suddently the pc power off while i was playing and i thought that was strange. i have checked every parts of the pc and it looked fine then i took all the parts off the motherboard mem ram, graphic cards and disconnected all fan but the cpu fan and then i noticed something strange, when i removed the 8 pin atx 12v cable or cpu power the pc would power on but of course without booting. So i went out to buy a new psu which i though had fail but with my great disapointment the psu was not the problem, now this wasn t my first pc that i have built and i pretty sure that i have done everything as is was suppose to be done but i never come accross a similar problem before.
windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
PSU: xfx pro 850w
processor: AMD 8150 8 core
motherboard: sabertooth 990fx 2.0
graphic cards: gtx 550ti x2 running in SLI
memory ram: corsair ddr3 16GB duel channel 1600 2x8 GB
no water cooling
I kow most of motherboard will take 1333 mhz but using 1600mhz should not damage the system!!
i have the same board ready to RMA to the egg.worked for 2 days ran cool and stable overclocked on air at 45C,while watching a movie it died, every thing turns on(drives, fans, ect.)but no post.do u have any red LEDs light on ur board?
Hey just out of curiousity, did the bios update fix this? I just purchased the Asus Sabertooth 990fx r2.0 TUF mobo and the AMD FX 8350 CPU with G-Skill 14900 1866mhz 16gb (2x8) Ram.
However, I cannot get the ram to run at 1866mhz as the PC wont boot, I have to press the "MEMOK!" on the motherboard to get it to boot back up. Also, if I choose to watch video's online in full screen it will shut down my PC as if I unplugged the power with no warnings, no BSOD, no errors. Just BOOM like the power went out.
Does this mean I have a faulty mobo? I just set up a exchange at newegg to send back the mobo and CPU for replacements.
I get something like that, but the diference is, if i turn on the system i get cpu led, i have to off/on the PSU, i get the f1 bios boot options and everything works fine, but i have to do it everytime i turn on the PC, and is not the baterry, some help will be apreciated..
