Hey,

I'm completely new to building computers and just started looking at parts, trying to put together my rig on paper...

Do you need to coordinate what case you get with your motherboard? I mean besides size. If my motherboard has 8 usb 2.0 ports, 2 usb 3.0 ports, firewire connector, stuff like that, do I need a case that has those exact external ports to take full advantage of the motherboard?

I feel like the answer to my question's really obvious, that's probably why I can't find it in any other thread lol.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Any modern full-sized case is capable of holding any modern motherboard, you have nothing to worry about.

Most cases now support XL-ATX motherboards.
