Hey guys,

I am making my first gaming pc. I need some advice with a new motherboard. I am confused what the Z77, H77, B75, Z68, etc. What is a good motherboard for my $500 gaming pc build? I am looking to spend $100 or less. My CPU is the Intel i3-3220 Ivy Bridge.

All advice appreciated!!!

Thanks

Seeing that your CPU is not an overclocking CPU, it doesn't make sense to spend money on an overclocking MB. For that reason you should go with the B75 chipset. It has the important features of newer MBs (USB3 and SATA 3) without some of the bells and whistles (SSD Caching, and SLI for example) that you don't really need, at least not in a budget system.

Here's a couple of good choices of B75 motherboards:

GIGABYTE GA-B75M-D3P $95.00

ASUS P8B75-V $100.00
